This World War II Ship Identification A3 size poster depicts silhouettes of battleships, cruisers, aircraft carriers and submarines of both the British Royal Navy and the German Kriegsmarine. The names and class of each ship is shown next to each image. The poster is supplied rolled in a clear cellophane tube.

Information: During World War II, British and German naval campaigns were marked by intense battles, strategic manoeuvring, and critical turning points that had a profound impact on the overall outcome of the conflict. One of the most significant campaigns was the Battle of the Atlantic, where German U-boats and surface raiders aimed to disrupt Allied supply lines. This campaign involved extensive convoy battles and anti-submarine warfare efforts by the Royal Navy and its allies to protect vital shipping routes, eventually leading to the Allies gaining the upper hand and securing their maritime logistics.

Ruler

The D-Day Ruler is plastic and measures 30cm long. It shows measurements in both inches and centimetres. On the inches scale it includes units of 1/16 of an inch and on the centimetre side units of 1 millimetre.

The front of the ruler shows a D-Day battle scene of British landing craft and troops storming a beach with cover provided by a Spitfire, whilst German troops fire at them from the cliffs above.

The reverse of the ruler shows a map of the beaches attacked during D-Day together with a map key. There is also a brief history of Operation Overlord, D-Day.

Information: On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily fortified French coastline in what was to be the largest seaborne invasion in history. The naval, air and land assault involved around 5,000 ships and landing craft, 50,000 vehicles, 11,000 aircraft and 13,000 paratroopers. By the end of the day the allies had established a foothold along the coast and could begin their advance into France.

How to use

Step 1 – Remove the backing paper away from the transfer sheet. Select the image you wish to rub down onto the background scene.
Step 2 – Place the transfer sheet with the images face up, then simply rub all over firmly on the image using a pen, pencil or coin.
Step 3 – Remove the transfer sheet slowly and carefully so that your image stays on the background. Cover the image using backing paper and rub again.

This Spitfire magnet is made from lead-free pewter and has a magnet attached to the back. The magnet is mounted on an information card that has an image of two Spitfires on the front and has information about the Spitfire during World War II on the reverse.

Information: The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force and many other Allied countries before, during and after World War II.

It was the most famous plane of World War II with its ground breaking design and superior specifications. This gave the British a decisive advantage fighting the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain in 1940 as well as later in World War II in the defence Malta and during the D-Day invasion in 1944.

The Churchill History Ruler is plastic and measures 30cm long. It shows measurements in both inches and centimetres. On the inches scale it includes units of 1/16 of an inch and on the centimetre side units of 1 millimetre.

The front of the ruler has the title CHURCHILL History Ruler, with a photograph of two spitfires to the left and a photograph of Winston Churchill to the right.

On the reverse is a timeline of the main events during Churchill’s life. The timeline starts from 30 November 1874 and the birth of Winston Churchill and runs through to 24 January 1965 when Churchill dies. Highlights include The Soldier 1893 to 1915 when Churchill trained at Sandhurst and saw action in Cuba, Afghanistan, Sudan, South Africa and during World War I. Then as a politician from 1900 when he was first elected as an MP, joined the War Council in 1914, voted Prime Minister between 1940-45 during which time he gave several significant speeches to the British public and became prime minister again between 1951-55.
